Social media image sizes 2026 (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube)
Recommended image sizes for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, X and Pinterest, and how to prepare them in ImageEdi with templates and safe zones.
Every network crops images differently. With the right sizes your text won’t disappear under the app’s buttons.
- Instagram post: 1080 × 1080 (square) or 1080 × 1350 (portrait 4:5).
- Instagram / TikTok story: 1080 × 1920; keep key content out of the top 250 and bottom 340 pixels.
- Facebook post: 1200 × 630; cover photo 1640 × 856 (cropped to the center on mobile).
- YouTube thumbnail: 1280 × 720; the video length sits bottom-right. Banner: 2560 × 1440, safe area 1546 × 423 in the center.
- LinkedIn banner: 1584 × 396; the profile photo covers the left side.
- X (Twitter) header: 1500 × 500.
- Pinterest: 1000 × 1500 (2:3).
- Link preview (Open Graph): 1200 × 630.
